It all started when...

The Carters met while working in a Portland restaurant together. After marrying in 2015, it was only natural to open their own. Carter's Cart opened on August 2nd, 2016, in NW Portland. Pitmaster Chris Carter works the smoker, while his wife, Rachel Slater Carter, operates logistics. They serve delicious smoked meats with Chris' unique, global approach to BBQ including specialized rubs, sauces and aiolis, along with produce from local purveyors. Visit their cart off of Highway 30 at Anderson Roofing Company.
